Apr 05, Colombo: Leader of the Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP) and Traditional Industries Minister of Sri Lanka Douglas Devananda says he would file legal action against the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) report.
Devananda has told parliament that he would file case before the Supreme Court against the LLRC report for not publishing his response to an allegation leveled against his party.
He has said that the LLRC report has stated that his party was an armed paramilitary group, but has failed to give prominence to the response given by him to the Commission regarding such allegations.
According to Devananda, such references were detrimental to his image as well as that of the party.
"The EPDP has been called a paramilitary group but this is wrong," he has noted.
However, the Minister has added that he agreed with some of the recommendations made by the LLRC.
